SNACKTHINS

 Nutrition Information:

 Serving size: 85g
 Calories: 360
 Carbohydrates:  27
 Sugar Alcohols: 0
 Fiber: 12
 Net Carbs: 15
 Protein: 36g

One of the laments of the low carb dieter... sorry... way of lifer... has long been the absence of the king of snacks, the potato chip.

The past year has seen a number of companies try to fill that need along with the significant lining of their pocket books. For my money, we have a new contender for the carb addicts dollar.

Now you won't get these confused with potato chips. They are thicker and crunchier than your normal chip. They are also much healthier.

Now the good folks of Tastemorr Snacks, like any smart marketer of low carb foods, prefer to list the nutritional information in a manner which portrays their delicacies in as good a light as possible, thus the 5g of net carbs per serving. But who are we kidding. We didn't travel this road by eating single servings now did we? So I've changed the nutritional information to reflect the entire contents of this significantly sized 85g bag.

The Tastemorr motto is "who says snack food has to be junk food?" and you have to give them credit for what is a superior product.

This is a good sized bag for only 15g of net carbs and just 360 calories.Combine that with a hefty 36g of protein and the complete absence of those nasty sugar alcohols (commonly called carbs to those in the know) and 12g of fiber and what you have is a pretty darn healthy snack food.

Price is no small consideration to the low carb dieter as product after product has mercilessly gouged our desire for variety. Snackthins however are $3.29 Canadian for the fair sized 85g bag. Sure they are still a little more costly than your old bag of Doritos but not rediculously so. Low carbers aren't made of money y'know.

Of course the real test is the taste and the snackthins come through with flying colors. The tasty morsels are available in regular, barbeque, sour cream and onion, and nacho cheese flavors. My personal favourite is barbeque but they are all quite good.

So if you have been missing that bag of chips while watching your favorite sport, or have been looking for something to smuggle into the movie theatre to replace your long lost popcorn, give these a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Chips Ahoy!!
