(dreams) Someday Maybe

I wrote this for a member of my support group who had lost her father. Unfortunately in the time that I have been there, several have faced such loss. In fact another close support group friend lost her father just one week prior to my writing this. I sent this to her also.

My own parents mortality is staring me in the face. Both my mother and father and reaching old age in diminishing health. Part of their problem is definitely obesity. Part of what what keeps me going these days is my determination to show them, before they die, that I shall be ok. Ultimately there could be no better gift I can give.

I am so sorry for your loss Deb

Each day the sun awakens from its slumber
And gives unselfishly of itself
Existing only for our existence
Asking for nothing
And giving so much

Now day has turned to night
And this night is of the blackest pitch
Come the morn, my sun did not rise
My sun has fallen from the sky

I shall miss your warmth
Your selflessness
Your wisdom, your guidance, your love
I shall miss your voice, your aspect, your strength

Thank you for always being there

goodbye...

and hello

For I know you have passed from this existence
To shine your light from afar
An angel on my shoulder
An angel in my heart
