Chapter IV: Journal the Journey

Accurate tracking of what you are doing leads to succes and the ability to adapt

You need to record as much information as possible on a daily basis. Websites like fitday are a real help but I would prefer that you take all the information available to you and record it in one source.

If the computer is not your friend then set pen to paper. If you are comfortable with computers however then nothing beats a good old spreadsheet.

I myself have designed a very simple and easy to use Excel spreadsheet which tracks all of the key factors in my weight loss journey. It also produces a simple graph which charts my progress as well as predicts where I will be in the future. I've also incorporated a BMR formula into the spreadsheet so that I no longer have to use the online calculators.

Below is a screenshot of my spreadsheet. If you want a copy send me an email and I will be more than happy to forward it to you.

Knowledge is power folks. Tracking information on a daily basis means that when you hit a little bump in the road it will be far easier (and quicker) to identify it, make adjustments, and move on.

just enter your personal data

record the important numbers day by day

and use the graph to chart your progress
